EX/P3-10 Counter-NBI Assisted LH Transition in Low Density Plasmas in the TUMAN-3M
نویسنده
چکیده
Abstract. Paper reports observation of the LH transition at very low density in the experiments on countercurrent Neutral Beam Injection (NBI) in the TUMAN-3M tokamak. The transition has been found at target average density as low as 0.5⋅10 m. Low input power in these experiments should be noticed: Pinput ≈ 1.3POHM < 240 kW. Contrary, in the case of co-current NBI the LH transition is difficult at low density. No transition is possible at the above density in the co-NBI heating scheme with Pinput up to 500 kW. Model predicting generation of a negative (inward directed) radial electric field Er, which is thought to help LH transition at low density, is suggested. The model conjectures the development of the Er and toroidal rotation Vφ in the presence of large ion orbit losses in the counter-NBI scheme. Results of direct measurements of the plasma potential by Heavy Ion Beam Probe technique (HIBP) confirming negative Er appearance in counter-NBI scenario are presented. Doppler spectroscopy of BIV impurity has shown an increase in the toroidal rotation of 15 km/s after application of the counter-NBI. The measured Vφ is in good agreement with the above model estimations.

EX/P5-35 Observation of Reduced Core Electron Temperature Fluctuations and Intermediate Wavenumber Density Fluctuations in H- and QH-mode Plasmas
In this paper, we report observations of reduced low-k core electron temperature and intermediate-k density fluctuations in H-mode and quiescent (QH)-mode. L-mode electron temperature fluctuation levels (0.5% ̃ T e /Te 2% for k s 0.5 as measured by correlation ECE (CECE) radiometry) are observed to decrease by at least a factor of four in H and QH-mode regimes in the DIII-D tokamak (r/a = 0.7)....

High βN plasmas, with or without an ITBs, have been studied in JET AT scenarios at high triangularity and high normalised density at Ip=1.2-1.8 MA / BT=1.8-2.7 T. The current profile is tailored via a fast current ramp, ohmic or with Lower Hybrid Current Drive (LHCD), and early application of Neutral Beam (NBI) or NBI + Ion Cyclotron Resonance Heating (ICRH) power. The initial q profile has low...
متن کاملI-36: The Role of LH in Controlled Ovarian Stimulation
It is known that the follicular selection and final stages of follicular maturation are equal if not more dependent on low circulating levels of LH.In addition to stimulating production of thecal androgens as substrate for estrogen synthesis, LH stimulates granulose cell via LH receptors induced by FSH and estrogen in larger but not smaller follicles. The data from numerous assisted reproductio...
متن کاملEffects of LHRF on Toroidal Rotation in Alcator C-Mod Plasmas
Application of lower hybrid RF (LHRF) waves can induce both coand countercurrent directed changes in toroidal rotation in Alcator C-Mod plasmas, depending on the target plasma current, electron density, confinement regime and magnetic shear. For Ohmic L-mode discharges with good core LH wave absorption, and significant current drive, the interior (r/a<0.5) rotation increments (on a time scale o...

The National Spherical Torus Experiment (NSTX) [Ono, M., et al., Nucl. The modeling of these plasmas provides a framework for experimental planning and identifies the tools to access these regimes. Simulat...
